Downtown Dining Week

No real deals but some great food

Whenever these events happen in Edmonton where restaurants are featured and displayed to appeal to a greater audience, I am always hoping there is some kind of value here. Usually, there isn’t. I’m looking at you Taste of Edmonton and Heritage Days.

However, there are some great restaurants to try here if there was a reason to hit a patio downtown then the time is now. Places I think you should be excited to try are The Marc, Bite of Brazil, Dorinku Osaka, Filistix, Say Uncle, Rosewood Foods, Sofra, and Woodwork. None of these in a particular order. Just ones I would think to be worthwhile.

I’ve already tried Dorinku’s offerings and while it’s diverse and full of quality, it still seems a little pricy. I had Ramen Misoya and have considered it the best Ramen in Edmonton. I was deeply disappointed in 99 Sunflower Cafe as my pizza was so undercooked it felt like I was eating a Delissio pizza that I attempted to cook while drunk. The Ono Poke deal is pretty decent with a regular size poke and a beer for $20 bucks. Now that’s a good patio dish.

I’m still looking forward to trying River City Revival House as the last time I was here was for a punk show. Never knew that food would be served here.

So hopefully you can safely pick up some takeout for Downtown Dining Week! Or maybe stay safe and enjoy a patio responsibly. Covid still exists yo.
