Value Chicken

This place has chicken that looks real good, but it don’t taste real good. We started with the SFC BBQ which was the standard chicken smothered in BBQ sauce. The chicken was just drowning in the sauce and didn’t really add to the taste of the chicken. Korean fried chicken is supposed to be fried twice. Our food came out in less than 10 minutes. It was fast but didn’t feel cooked unlike places like It Dog where you think they forgot your order. When I bit into the Onion Lover drumstick my suspicions were confirmed, pink meat on the inside. I still ate it cause i was hungry AF but if you don’t believe me, message me, i’ll send you the picture. The saving grace of the Onion Lover was the hot mustard sauce, it’s what all hot mustard sauces from those fast food places wish they would be when they grew up. The Onion Lover chicken itself wasn’t that great, basically just the regular SFC OG chicken with green onion on top of it like grass clippings. Vanilla Coconut Chia Pudding wasn’t worth it either. This spider egg looking pudding didn't really taste that great and for 4 bucks you get to keep the dollar store glass jar for whatever goddamn reason you’d need it for.

Located in the same spot where Lee House used to be in the corner there near Whyte ave, this place is really convenient to get too. Really clean inside and not alot of seating, well it reflects their parking situation as well. I kinda want to try the other chicken they had available but don’t really feel like getting a tummy ache.

Sal says: Just try it

@squachie says: The bottled water was the best I ever had.

This review was made such a long time ago, and looking back at it I had always thought I liked it from the get go. Guess SFC was a place I grew to love. The 5 piece chicken set for $12 includes 5 pieces of chicken, 2 sides and a drink. It is still the best value lunch in Edmonton tbh. I would currently give it a 3.9/5 as I feel like the pieces of chicken have shrunk? I’ve asked other friends if they’ve noticed as well and they too confirm my suspicions. I’m not some crazy old guy screaming at a cloud.

The new renovation at SFC takes away any dine-in seating and promotes a better flow of customers. This is pretty sad as squishing 4 people onto a small table was part of SFC’s charm, but dirtying my car will have to do.
