Private Dining with Mai

This post will mainly be just a photo dump of the excellent dishes that my good friend Mai made for a special birthday.

All the dishes were prepared masterfully and had a great blend of Asian flavors. First course had us eating a beef carpaccio as a lettuce wrap, which was truly refreshing.

Second course was an incredibly light scallop dish. Sorry in advance for not remembering these things. Was enjoying myself during the whole experience. lol.

Third course was a lightly battered cod tempura with salsa verde.

Fourth course was a lobster and shrimp dumpling that was lightly pan fried which added so much crisp on the outside that really elevated the taste.

Fifth course was another dumpling in a chili oil which had some good heat. I know some people couldn’t take the heat.

Sixth course was a perfectly cooked duck breast with beets. I hate beets but whenever someone cooks it properly it is truly amazing.

And the last course was the panna cotta! It also had some fresh mango on it as well that perfectly rounded out the meal.

Great job Mai, my favorite Masterchef!
