Heritage Days Appreciation Post

Every year one of the only worthwhile festivals to go to is the Heritage Days. Not even Klondike, kdays, expo or whatever you want to call it. It’s been ruined. Heritage Days is the best and now after ditching the dreaded ticket system it is now better than ever.

Heritage days was always run by the community. So unlike Taste of Edmonton, there are a larger group of people to help and rally behind these stalls. Taking away workers from restaurants to operate at two places is what really makes Taste of Edmonton so pricy and I don’t really like it or will ever go back to. Just a waste of time at this point.

Anywayssss this years Heritage Days had timed entry and overall I thought it to be pretty succesful. No here are some of the eats we got this time around.

Cevapi from Serbia. Grilled minced meat that came with a bun. The texture of it was tender and the saltiness was on point. Delicious.

Next up we had some Chicken Momos from Nepal. Momos are a steam filled dumpling and like most dumplings, this was really great. It also had some decent spice to it. Washed it down in some mango lassi.

After the momos we needed a pick me up and decided on some Turkish coffee. Which also came with some Turkish Delight. Niceeeeeee

My stomach was feeling insanely full so instead of getting the full burger I got the Buffalo Bannock Slider. It’s probably the best thing at heritage days and the flavor is so unique and delicious. The slider was juicy AF.

To cap off the day and the heat I decided to have a fresh young coconut from Malaysia/Signapore tent. the juice/milk? was fine but the coconut meat was super hard and it took off the husk…i’d rate this coconut a 3/5. Also that metal spoon did not make it back to the tent. Thanks for all the great food Heritage Days! See you next year!
